What Could Be Causing I Have A High-pitched Sound Coming Out Of My Ear ?

Question: I have a high-pitched sound coming out of my ear when I open my mouth to the extreme and I particularly notice it while chewing, yawning and brushing my teeth. I also have some fullness when my jaw is still and when I move my head sideways in one direction. These symptoms have now been troubling me for more than a year. I have previously seen an ENT doctor who thought there was mucus lodged in the eustachian tube but surely it should have cleared by now. What could be causing it and how can it be treated please?

I am not really allergic to anything at present.
I haven't had any respiratory tract infection recently.
I have taken courtisone tablets (20gms) for a month and I have currently been taking Dymista nasal spray twice a day for about a month.
I am just a bit concerned since I have had these symptoms for more than a year and I am not sure whether it is a blocked Eustachian tube or temporomandibular joint erosion causing it. Many thanks

Brief Answer:
Probably blockage of the Eustachian tube, follow the advice below
Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,
Your symptoms are commonly related to a blocked Eustachian tube.
I recommend to do an x-ray of the temporomandibular joint to exclude an erosion of the joint.
I recommend to continue using Dymista for local application.
I also suggest to use a recovery such as Sudafed to relieve the congestion.
If the symptoms continue, I recommend to see an ENT specialist for further evaluation and specific treatment.
Hope it helps dear.

I had an x-ray performed on the jaw a few months ago and it said that the left mandibular condyle is positioned very slightly in front of the most pronounced point of the temporal condyle.
I have also seen a stomatologist who fitted a nightguard about 6 months ago which I wear at night to prevent me grinding on my teeth.
Is it normal to still have these symptoms of sound coming from my ear after more than a year? Many thanks

Brief Answer:
Probably the symptoms seem to be related to the mandibular disorder.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again dear,
The symptoms can be related to mandibular disorder.
These types of disorders, even when are minimal, can cause ear symptoms such as ear fullness.
I recommend gentle massage or stretches of the jaw and neck.
I also suggest using a muscle relaxant such as Baclofen for muscle relaxation.
If the symptoms continue, you should consult the ENT specialist for a specific treatment.
Arthroscopy or surgery can be considered.
