What Could Be Causing Recurring Throat Pain After Smoking, Especially When Stretching My Neck?
Question: So i have been smoking for a while now and recently i went on a trip where we were regularly smoking and after 3 day i started to realize that my throat was a little swelled up and i was facing pain when i try to gulp down something, i thought it might be because of smoking so i stopped and eventually after 2 days the pain went away, and i haven't smoked from past 3 days, but today the little pain in my throat came back not when iam gulping anything but if i stretch my neck upwards only then.
Can you guide what that could be ?

Brief Answer:
It seems pharyngitis
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
From your description it seems pharyngitis and it could be due to smoking and could also be due to infection. I am not sure if this is a bronchitis. Smokers are prone to chronic bronchitis, so you need to quit smoking right away. Get a chest X-Ray PA view done.
After confirming diagnosis from a local ENT specialist, you may need a short course of antibiotics. Gargles with water (with added some salt) or coconut oil can be soothing to throat.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
