What Could Be Causing Severe Pain In The Groin Area Upon Standing And Start Walking?
Most probably groin pull or strain
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
The commonest cause of severe pain in left groin on standing up and start walking is as follows:
There is inflammation of the origin of the muscles from the bone called pubic ramus that goes down to be inserted to tibia and femur.
Rarely other inflammatory causes like an inflamed inguinal lymph node.
I would advise you the following in such a situation:
Cold compresses over the painful area.
Give rest - helps healing.
Anti-inflammatory medicines, preferably Ibuprofen if it suits you; occasional Aspirin can cause anti-platelet effect hence better be avoided.
You may take a PPI like Omeprazole to avoid gastritis related problems associated with such medications.
Better to consult your Doctor, preferably an Orthopedic surgeon for clinical evaluation and examination and have related investigations such as X-rays, Ultrasonography and/or MRI to confirm the diagnosis and rule out any serious problems so that a proper diagnosis and further management be taken as advised.
I hope this answers your query, helps you further.
Take care.
