What Could Be Lumpy Band Over My Left Jawline Toward The Back Of The Jaw?

Question: Hi,
I've recently noticed a lumpy band over my left jawline toward the back of the jaw. It doesn't hurt (but I've been obsessively touching it so it's a bit sore). I had a pimple-like bump near the ear on the left before hand but it resolved. I don't know if it's related. The other jawline is less prominent and has no lumpiness to it. Could this just be a benign anatomical difference? I am 52 and do not have any history of oral cancer. I don't have my molars any longer. I am wondering which doctor to assess this, if any needed - especially since it doesn't hurt.

Brief Answer:
Visit an ENT doctor.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I don't think that this can be related to oral cancer. Most probably it can be related to any infection.
You may send me a photo of the lump to see what kind of lump it can be.
You can also do a total blood count with formula first . You may need to visit an ENT doctor to check the lump .
Hope I have answered the question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Thanks.

Thank you - it is not prominent enough to visible in a photo. It is under the skin and feels like a band or tough strand like a ligament over the lower jawbone near the back end (where the jawbone ends). It ‘flicks’ when I roll my finger over it. It feels hard and lumpy. I recently had viral pharyngitis and was on an oral antibiotic just in case it was strep. I saw an ent then who scoped me but saw nothing else. Of course I didn’t feel this bump then.
Brief Answer:
Can be a lymph node.
Detailed Answer:
Hello dear and thank you for asking again.
I think it can be an enlarged lymph node there. It may have been caused by the infection you recently had . I don't believe this can be much important. It will go away gradually.

Ok - thank you. I attached a photo of the location for better reference. Whatever it is seems to wrap over or be right on the jawbone.
