What Could Cause A Constant Prickly Feeling In The Throat Along With Recurrent Stomach Flu?
I'm suffering form the non-stop heavy symptom of feeling something prickly stuck in my throat making me can't lead normal life at all. It is recurrence after a stomach flu two years ago. I have seen many doctors and tried many medications without any effect to release or reduce my symptom. Now I doubt that the symptom is caused by cricopharyngeal spasm and I may need to do Botox injection. I wrote a doc to state about my situation as uploaded. I think my situation is rare. Do you have any advice for me?
Thanks & best regards, XXXXXXX
Kindly share a recording of the Video-laryngoscopy.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
1. Kindly share a recording / video of your video-laryngoscopy.
2. The phase shift is unlikely to be related to your thyroid surgery as it is mentioned on the right side whereas your thyroid surgery was on the left side.
3. Get the barium swallow study done.
4. Request a local doctor to start Rabeprazole, Levosulpiride, Ranitidine and Mucaine Gel. This should reduce your symptoms. (Levosulpiride may cause a transient increase in prolactin levels).
5. Avoid botox till your condition is clearly diagnosed.
6. I will review with the video, barium study and response to the above medication.
I hope that I have answered your query.
