Question: I threw up acid after eating and now notice a purple mark on my tonsil. Just wondering if they both could be connected?

How long does the red usually go away and should I stay away from any particular foods/drinks?

Meanwhile you have to take precaution regarding not take excess spicy and oily foods.
Excess hot foods also should be restricted.
Avoid smoking until you recover, if having habit of it.
You can drink lots of water. Orange juice, Apple juice etc., like fruit juice can be consumed more. Salt water gargle done two times a day.
