What Could Cause Blood In Stool On An 18-year-old?
Please give additional information
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history, seen the attachments.
I can understand the concerns that you have raised.
You are 18 years old male hence it is most likely to be a serious matter.
We can think about the commonest causes at your age:
Hemorrhoids or piles as they are called - this is a painless condition, piles can not be palpated of digital (finger) rectal examination. Not seen or felt at the anal verge unless prolapsing.
Fissure in ano gives pain also on passing stool.
Other conditions like polyp is painless and rarely causes blood to appear.
Ulcers in colon or rectum gives mucus too.
Any other conditions will give additional symptoms.
Hence it is necessary to have further investigations to know the exact cause and thus get out of anxiety that you have.
Please give additional information for me to assist you better:
Any symptoms or complaints like pain in abdomen, bloating, loose or hard stools sometime?
Pain in abdomen or difficulty in passing stool?
Pain at the anal verge or burning during or after passing stool?
Any other information please.
Awaiting for your feedback.
As advised
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for your feedback.
All the symptoms are suggestive of colitis, which gives mucus and blood.
I would advise you the following:
Get the stool tests done for a few days.
If there is any evidence of an infection your Doctor will give you an appropriate prescription based antibiotics, metronidazole, probiotics as per the reports and may solve your problems.
You should never hold the passing of stool as it can create more problems.
No outside food; best be the homemade usual food.
Boiled for 20 minutes and cooled water preferably.
Please give me feedback of the stool tests and the medications you will be prescribed.
Take care.

Best to get stool tests for 3 consecutive days
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your review.
Such details as change of color on touch with water and so on as seen by you is not documented hence it is of utmost importance to get the stool tests for 3 consecutive days which can tell us the exact diagnosis to have the most appropriate treatment.
Color of stool depends upon many factors. Color matters if there is redness or if the stool is black indicating bleeding from upper GI area or white indicating obstructive jaundice.
Hence get stool tests done and post me the reports of blood and stool reports.
