What Could Cause Blood In Urine While Getting Treated For Recurring Petechia, Intermittent Bruising, Night Sweats And Swollen Lymph Nodes?

Question: I've had recurring petechia, swollen lymph nodes (newly discovered one on my groin), bruising and on and off night sweats. In my last CBC (January 2018) everything was within range, according to my primary care. This past week there was blood in my urine at my physical. I'm getting concerned and wondering if I need to see a specialist. I am a 39 year old active female.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms suggestive of platelets disorder, coagulation factors/blood vessels

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

The symptoms mentioned by you - petechia, bruising and blood in the urine are most probably concerned with platelets, coagulation factors and/or blood vessels.

I'd suggest you get platelet count, prothrombin time, INR, activated thromboplastin time and thrombin time.

In addition, you need to consult your urologist and get urine cytology to look for any abnormal cells.
Cystoscopy or examination of the urinary bladder with a scope may or may not be required.

Although the problem seems to be blood-related and less likely to be due to any local problem in the bladder or urinary tract.

Kindly, update me with the investigation results mentioned earlier in the reply so that the probable cause of symptoms can be found.

Thanks and take care
