What Could Cause Discomfort During Urination And Irritated Urethra?

Question: I had a recent one night stand with a stranger. I know have an irritated urethra and slight discomfort when I pee. I tested at 7 days after exposure for chlamydia and gonorrhea. They were both negative. Should I test again? I figured if there were symptoms the infection would show. Is that correct?
