Question: I recently went to the doctors for a uti. I just finished up my medicine a week ago on Friday July 13th. I was feeling normal. Today I'm feeling like I have to go to the bathroom every 15min. I urinate some but I don't get relief. Do I still have a uti.

Hello,

Based on the facts that you have posted frequency and urgency for urination that you have after treatment for UTI could be due to recurrence of UTI. Get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkalizer thrice daily. Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report. Taking anti cholinergic drug like Darifenacin once daily will help to reduce urgency .

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician. Ensure to drink more water to keep urine dilute This will help to control dysuria.
