Brief Answer:
Probable differential diagnosis and need more information

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You are having generalised weakness, giddiness and diarrhea (for 3 days only). These symptoms (except diarrhea) can occur in a number of diseases like:

- Vitamin D deficiency
- Anemia (Hemoglobin level less than 10gm%)
- Hypothyroidism
- Cervical myelopathy
- Depression
- Multivitamin deficiency
- Chronic fatigue syndrome

The diarrhea could be due to multiple drugs, drug allergy, food poisoning or enteritis. As your blood investigations were normal, please check for hemoglobin level, vitamin D level, B12 level and thyroid function report. If not done, please get it done and send me the reports. I will guide you further. Also I need information about:

- What do you do? Are you overburdened?
- Is there any history of loss of weight or appetite?
- Is there any history of mental stress, insomnia, loss of interest?
- Is there any history of fever, cough, night sweats?
- If any radiological investigation was done, please send me the reports.

Please provide me answers of above questions. It will help me further knowing your illness. If you have any doubt, do let me know. Thank you. Take care.

Further checkups I have carried out like Cervical X-Ray and Brain CT scan (Plain and Contrast). Brain CT scan appears to be normal and no findings have been reported. however Cervical X-ray have reported that 'Loss of cervical lordosis with straightening of spine'. I need to know what precautions I need to take as still feel balance off sometimes. Also let me know any medicine is available for this.

Brief Answer:
Cervical pain management and precautions

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

Your CT cervical spine is revealing cervical muscle spasm. It leads to loss of lordosis and straight spine. It can also cause giddiness, imbalance and weakness.

To treat it, you must:

- Avoid pillow while lying supine. You can use cervical pillow.
- Do regular neck muscle exercise.
- Avoid too much neck flexion. So if you are using mobile and laptop for long duration, better take break in between.
- You can apply hot fomentation over neck.
- Do neck massage twice daily
- Consult physiotherapist for balance exercise and neck stretching
- You can also take tablet Diclofenac with Chlorzoxazone to relieve neck muscle pain and spasm.
- For vertigo, you can take tablet with betahistidine after prescription.

Hope it will help. Let me know if I can assist you further. Thank you. Take care.

Brief Answer:
Duration of treatment

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

You are currently taking Thioquest tablet, which is a muscle relaxant. It should not be used more than 14 days. After 14 days, you can take NSAID's like Diclofenac or ibuprofen+paracetamol whenever you will severe symptoms. Otherwise, you should focus on neck exercise, healthy life style and good diet.

The usual treatment for neck muscle spasm is from 14-28 days. In chronic recurrent cases, the duration can extend upto 3 months.
The recovery is a good sign. Give your maximum efforts. You will recover.

Hope it will help you. Thank you. Take care.
