What Could Cause Muscle Spasms In My Left Leg Just Above The Ankle?
Question: Have muscle spasm in my left leg just above the ankle in front. What can cause this? I have used cold then heat to treat. It goes away, but has come back when I lay down. I took tylanol 3 tonight too. Other meds I'm on include Nasacort, Montelukast, metroprolol tartrate 50 mg, furosemide, potassium chloride, atorvastatin, omeprazole, multiple vitamin. Temperature today had reached 91 F and I did not take my morning furosemide and potassium chloride. Spasm started at 10: 00 pm. I used ice then heat which worked for a time, but spasm returned which I treated with heat.
Brief Answer:
Muscle spasms due to electrolytic disbalance.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I think the spasms come due to electrolytes disbalanc (despite taking kcl) and dehydration.
I suggest you to keep yourself hydrated and change furosemid to a potassium spare diuretics such as triamterene or amiloride.
The temperature 91F may be written wrong, because is 32,8°C ,incompatible to life.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
