What Could Cause Nausea, Food Cravings And Mild Vaginal Itching After A Surgical Abortion?
Question: My girlfriend had a surgical abortion on 4 April 2018, then we had sex 10 days after, condoms on, not broken (checked, tied up and sqeeuzed every time after sex to check leakage). She had a mild vaginal itchiness and frequent urination for 2 days last week but no more, now she's feeling nauseated these few days. She also feels to eat noodles over rice suddenly and she wants to eat spicy food, but there are no symptoms like fatigue, backache or breast tenderness, wondering if these are normal PMS after abortion or she's pregnant again? no period yet after 35 days!

She has been feeling nauseated for no reason, not much, just occasionally for the last 5 days, while she's not having any other pregnancy symptoms, are these normal symptoms of PMS? or let's say, is it normal for someone with a surgical abortion done to have pregnancy symptoms before the first few periods after the surgery?
I mean she's been eating all the time, but there's no food aversions obviously except noodles over rice and spicy food in the last 3 days, no backache, no fatigue, no breast tenderness, etc. One thing to mention is that she's having quite a few pimples?!
I am also wondering how long should she wait to have the period again? she has the abortion at 5-6 weeks gestation.

These all are non specific pregnancy symptoms. Only a pregnancy test can confirm a pregnancy. Such non specific symptoms can happen after abortion.
She can wait for a week more and in case there are no periods then consult her gynecologist for hormonal tablets to get a withdrawal bleeding.

After you first message I picked my girlfriend up from school and noticed that she is feeling more nauseated yesterday, so I told her about all these information I've found on the Internet and advised her to do a home pregnancy test around 7pm yesterday and it was negative. I have also read that a woman can only ovulate once the hcG level drops to zero, could a pregnancy test done now (5 weeks after the abortion) be false negative?
I understand that nausea can be a symptom after abortion but is that normal to have such symptom out of a sudden after 4 weeks of the surgery?
