Question: My left kee has been painful for thirty + days. Hurts more at night. Sometimes it will pop or snap when I'm walking ( with a limp ). Frustrated as I'm a very active old guy! X-rays do not show bone on bone. Have had cortisone shots. Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Could be ligament injury

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

This could be ligament injury. An orthopedic surgeon can examine the movements at the knee and find the cause. Further tests like MRI, uric acid levels, LFT can be helpful in diagnosis.

In my opinion, please avoid, sudden movements at the joint. Also avoid, squatting, going up and down the stairs. Knee supports can be helpful in keeping joint stable. Avoid putting weight on joint. Hot compresses can help.

You can take stronger pain-killer like Aceclofenac and Thiocolchicoside twice a day, if mild pain killers are not helpful.

Hope it helps.
