Had DCIS 20 ears ago in the other breast wide excession no problems not worried about breast today. Now am worried about back pain during and after colon prep. Pain is severe I have a high tolerance to pain have taken some advil to function thought at first muscle strain now think with the immediate onset during colon prep it may be kidney related can this be reversed what is the reversal . Had screening on Tuesday occurred early Tuesday morning pain was with episode. Thank you

Brief Answer:
Can be infection as colonoscope is an external body inserted.
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Was a colonoscopy done on you?
See though colonoscopy is performed under highly aseptic condition yet there are always chances of infection; As any outside thing when inserted into our body can act as a career of infection.
Severe back pain, vomiting ,nausea etc could all be suggestive of symptoms of infection in body.
I would suggest you to go for a
stool test
complete and differencial blood count to see if there is any ongoing infection in body.
Antibiotic would be started as per the reports.
For vomiting take Zofran sos till then.
Keep drinking lots of fruit juice rich in electrolytes.
Regards.

I am sorry to tell you this event happened before the colon scan during the prep. When I was at the end of drinking the solution I think that I became dehydrated and the reaction is to the myralax solution
Told them at the clinic about episode and did have colon screen. Pain was started much earlier with colon screen drinking miralax

Brief Answer:
Follow up answer.
Detailed Answer:
Back pain is found among people who take Miralax, especially for people who are female, 60+ old.
In case pain is not responding to ibuprofen you should consult the doctor.
He would check you for signs of dehydration.
See miralax is a osmotic laxative which absorbs water from your intestine.Severe dehydration could be a cause of sweating, pain etc.
Get your blood electrolytes like sodium potassium and chloride checked.
follow up with reports.
Try drinking some oral rehydration solution or coconut water and see if condition responds to it.
Regards.
