What Could Cause Pus In The Area Around The Navel?
Question: Pus in the bellybutton area
Brief Answer:
Omphalitis.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
This is probably omphalitis. A general surgeon should have a look to see whether surgical intervention is required or not.
Usually drainage of the pus results in complete resolution.
An ultrasound scan of the area may help to determine its spread and may also help to suggest potential causes.

Seems to have a zit next to the bellybutton, inside the bellybutton area not bellybutton itself
Brief Answer:
Doesn't make any difference.
Detailed Answer:
Hi again,
It doesn't really mean much as the recommended actions would still be the same.
A surgeon should have a look to investigate the source of infection.
An ultrasound scan may help to determine the extent of the infection and potential causes unless the extent is limited.
Hope I have answered your query.
