What Could Cause Slight Bleeding Found On The Toilet Paper?

default
Posted on Tue, 12 Mar 2024
Question: I am a 50 year old white female. I woke up this morning with light pink blood on my toilet paper. I've not had anymore today. I had a hysteronomy at age 34 and my husband is out of town. The last time we had sex was Friday morning. My mom had cervical cancer at age 34. My brother has kidney failure and my dad had kidney failure. I do not have any pain when urinating. I feel fine with no pain. I just thought since I still had a little more time on my already pain time on this website I would ask if this should be something I should be concerned about. I do not have any copays or good insurance at all so don't really want to go to the doctor unless it is very necessary as it will cost a lot of money.

Brief Answer:
Can be vaginal dryness.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Post menopausal bleeding is a common problem however the most common cause is a problem with the endometrial lining of the uterus.

In your case , with a history of a hysterectomy, this is not a possibility so other causes must be considered.

The other causes can be divided into gyneacological and non gynaecological. The most common gynaecological causes would be vaginal atrophy or dryness or problems related to the cervix if it was a subtotal hysterectomy.
The vaginal dryness would respond to topical estrogen replacement creams and a pap smear would be able to assess the state of the cervix to determine if there are any problems with it.
Lesions of the ovary can also cause this symptom.
You can try aloe vera gel and XXXXXXX butter to avoid any dryness and in case the bleeding persists then you need a detailed evaluation by your gynecologist.
I hope this answers your query.
In case you have additional questions or doubts, you can forward them to me, and I shall be glad to help you out.

When you say XXXXXXX butter and aloe vera gel do you mean the kind you can buy at Walmart? Would I put this inside vaginally to help with dryness? I do have pain with intercourse and was hoping to avoid estrogen. If this would work instead that would be wonderful and inexpensive. I live on the border of Mexico and I am able to buy my perscription drugs there for a fraction of the cost in the US. If I need buy an estrogen replacement cream what would I buy?

Brief Answer:
You can get these at Walmart's.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
Yes you can get aloe vera gel and XXXXXXX butter at Walmart. These both are very good moisturizers. You need to put these inside the vagina twice a day and clean the area before applying these.
In case you need an estrogen cream you can go with estradiol gel 2%.
Hope my answer is helpful.
