What Could Cause Sudden Early Satiety, Bloating, And Nausea?

Question: 34 year old female. Not pregnant. New, sudden onset early satiety, indigestion, bloating, abdominal fullness after small meals, increased burping, and short-duration nausea daily. This has been going on for 2 weeks and the only thing that improves symptoms is eating very small amounts of food. Tums and omeprazole have not helped (not experiencing heartburn). I can’t be seen by my doctor for 2 weeks. What could this be and should I be seen more urgently?

Hello,

It seems like you are having indigestion. I don't think that this situation needs immediate medical attention.

I think you may need to change your diet eating food that can be friendly to your gastrointestinal tract, avoid drinking alcohol and smoking . Stress and fatigue may also contribute to it. Also some medications such birth control pills and corticosteroids may contribute to it.

Omeprazole is often recommended and it may be helpful but you can use antacids such Maalox since you say it isn't .You may also use ginger , peppermint or chamomile tea. Continue having small meals often. Chewing fennel seeds during day or having them with oatmeal and yoghurt may be helpful. Also, probiotics such enterogermina or yovita may help you.
