What Could Cause Sudden Hot Flashes, Body Tremors And Weakness?

Question: we went out to dinner last night. The weather was cold...25 degrees and windy. I had on a jacket and scarf. I was only in the cold long enough to walk from the car to the heated restaurant. Within 3 minutes of being inside, I started sweating profusely, felt weak and shakey. I took off my jacket immediately, but continued to sweat and feel strange for the entire meal. Finally began to feel normal, but weak, about an hour later. What could have caused that?
Brief Answer:
Hypoglycemia
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
These symptoms are of hypoglycemia which is a drop of blood sugar level beyond normal levels. This can happen due to a number of causes including diabetes and not eating for a long period of time. I would recommend that you get a blood test for blood glucose level both fasting and postprandial together with a blood test for hemoglobin A1c level.
I hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

I have never had issues with blood sugar. I had eaten a big lunch about 5 hours earlier, and had just toasted some marshmallows in the fireplace about a half an hour before leaving for dinner. Also drank gatorade throughout the day. Could there be another explanation for my symptoms?
Brief Answer:
Hyperthyroidism or cardiac insufficiency
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If your blood glucose level could not be low, then these symptoms could be due to hyperthyroidism which can manifest by sudden attacks of sweating and chills. I would recommend that you take a blood test for thyroid hormonal profile including T3, T4 and TSH.
Another cause could be cardiac insufficiency, which leads to a sudden drop of blood pressure. I would recommend that you get an ECG together with an echo-cardiogram to exclude cardiac insufficiency.
I hope you find this helpful.
