What Could Cause Sudden Loss Of Balance And Excessive Stumbling Towards The Left Hand Side?

Question: Hello. Suddenly, in the middle of the night, I lost my equalibrium. I'm stumbling like a drunk, I am falling over a lot, mostly to my left. I can manage to walk, but must be careful. What is it? Lyme? stroke? YYYY@YYYY
Brief Answer:
Based on symptoms, we need to exclude stroke.
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I am Dr Sudhir Kumar, Neurologist, and would try my best to help you.
I have noted your symptoms. Based on this, we need to exclude a stroke affecting posterior circulation (which supplies cerebellum and brain stem). A brain scan, preferably an MRI should be done as early as possible.
I sincerely hope my reply has helped you.
I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.
Best wishes,
