What Do FDG Avid And FDG Activity With An Area Of Soft Tissue In The Anterior Mediastinum In A PET CT Scan Indicate?
Question: hi just wanted an explanation on a pet scan result as I am waiting to see my doctor and a little anxious. there are are few neck lymph nodes that came back with fdg avid and fdg activity with area of soft tissue in anterior mediastinum can u please explain what that could mean. they have also recommended excisional biopsy on lymph nodes

Chances are very low but still you should go for lymph node biopsy once. It will give you exact diagnosis. Just go for lymph node biopsy once.
