What Do I Do About A Cut On The Head Of A Toddler After A Fall?

Put the wound closure strips
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
I can understand your concerns,
Please do not worry. I've checked the picture, the wound looks clean and not bleeding. But the edges of the wound is pulled apart. In order proper healing the edges of the cut need to bring together. This also allows faster wound healing and avoid scarring.
Clean the area around the wound with alcohol-free wipes. After that try to close the wound by bringing two edges with wound closure strips (butterfly closure strips or steri-strip). Apply pressure to bring two edges of the wound together and apply 1 to 2 closure strips on the edges bringing the edges together. Make sure the wound get closed. Observe the wound for signs of infection (redness, swelling or oozing). Slight redness of the edges is normal.
If you can not bring the edges together to close the wound you should take him to the ER.
Hope, this information is helpful for you. Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.
Thank you.

If he has received 3 doses of the vaccine he is protected from tetanus
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for asking follow-up question.
The 3 doses of the tetanus containing vaccine (DTaP: diphtheria, tetanus and acellular pertussis) is administered at 2, 4 and 6 months of child immunization schedule.
If he has received 3 doses of the vaccine he is protected from tetanus about 99%.
If he did not receive the full 3 doses he needs to receive tetanus containing vaccine now.
Please, feel free to ask me if there is anything else you need to know.
Thank you.
