Brief Answer:
He may have to take antibiotics

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

He may have to take antibiotics and analgesics. But for prescribing it, the clinical condition and clinical picture needs to be seen.

So I request you to show the oral cavity where he has pain to his dentist during consultation so that the cause can be known to prescribe the medication.

Thank you and have a healthy day.

Regards,
Dr. Rohit
