What Do Absence Of Menstrual Bleeding Despite Taking Pirodal Tablets Suggest?
Question: doctor i have a froblem my menses i will see some doctor she give me 3 month us this tablet PIRODAL 2.5mg .so i using this tablet 3 month 1st month my menses start 17 may...before 41 days and 2nd month start XXXXXXX 22 36 before then after didnt start yet my mences and now i have grow my hear doctor pls help me what can do me thanks ..

1. You are suffering from a condition called hyper prolactinemia. Prolactin is a protein molecule generated in the pituitary gland which is a part of the brain. The normal fasting level of prolactin is 4.8 to 23.3 ng/ ml. It is slightly higher during pregnancy.
2. If there is increase in hair growth in your face then it is due to the increase in androgen due to high prolactin levels.
3. At the same time other causes of hyperprolactinemia should also be considered like any problems in the pituitary gland, taking any psychiatric medicines or increased mental stress related anxiety. Among other causes, polycystic ovaries should also be considered which is due to hormone imbalance and this also causes irregular and absent periods. Getting an ultrasound scan og pelvis or a brain MRI scan might be required depending on your clinical examination.
4. Pirodal is bromocriptine and is a recommended medicine for hyper prolactinemia. It is to be regularly reviewed every 3 months and your doctor is doing that. Your prolactin level is still high at 40.11 ng/ ml and this has to be compared to your last report. If there is no control of prolactin with pirodal then your doctor might change to newer medicine called cabergoline.
5. Treatment of hyperprolactinemia might take more than a year and treatment response is to be reviewred regularly about once in 3 months.

Thanks for the reply me again doctor I think is better I go and meet the my doctor and I won't stop the growing my hair u know some tablet doctor how to stop my hair but be fore my hair is no coming then after I took it the tablet my hair groweing up
