Brief Answer:
Probably scalp swelling due to injury
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear. Thanks for giving me an opportunity to address your query.
Children are very playful and often tend to get injured especially on the head.According to me it must be a soft tissue swelling of the scalp followed by injury. This is self limiting and resolve over a weeks time.
However, I would like to know some more information.
Is you kid having fever?
Is he irritable?
How big is the bump -dimensions?
Could you share/upload a snap if possible?
Awaiting your reply...
Thankyou.

Brief Answer:
It is self limiting and harmless
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear. Thanks for writing me back.
According to me its a lymph nodal swelling (depending on the location). This is seen commonly in children especially when they have upper respiratory tract infection which is subclinical-without symptoms. It shall gradually reduce in size and disappear over a week's time.
Wait and watch. In the next 2-3 days if you feel the size of the swelling is increasing or turning to be more painful I were to suggest an ENT evaluation.Donot panic.Nothing needs to be done.It shall resolve by itself. It is harmless.
Hope this answers your query.
