What Do Bumps On The Gums Indicate?
Question: Hi I asked a question on here a few weeks ago about gum concern. And it looks like I have gum disease from unhealthy habits the past few years - smoking/drinking etc.
I have a dentist app coming upt to start treatment, scaling, X-rays etc, but I do have a question about these large bumps below my gums under a few teeth. A few are very large. I've attached pics. Does it look like this may require surgery to remove them? Does it look like they are dangerously large if they stay there? Thanks

I have gone through the images. As per the images, the bumps over the gums looks like multiple periodontal abscess(if the bump is soft to touch), or it can be a multiple exostosis(if it is hard to touch). Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. You need to get a radiograph like OPG done to confirm the diagnosis.
If it is a periodontal abscess, you can get scaling and root planing done.
If it a exostosis, then it does not require any treatment since it is harmless. But if it increases in size, then you can get it surgically correctted.
