If you are having this symptoms since 2 months (since you started iron tablets) then either you should reduce the dose or you can change the brand name of the drug which might some give relief from the symptoms.

Also,it depends on your blood hemoglobin,if it is around 10mg% then i think it can also be increased by dietary supplements of iron means you can take iron rich foods.

As we discussed earlier,burning sensations or pain/tenderness over left side face/cheek or even left mild ear pain are very unlikely to be related to this iron tablets but it must be examined by the doctor to give further comments.

It could also be neuralgic pain as you said you had been chewing gutkha probably from a long time.So,it would be better to stay away from ghtkha,khaini or even pan masala which are completely injurious to our health directly or indirectly.

Kindly tell me your CBC report or blood hemoglobin,so we can plan further medical intervention accordingly.

Thanks for the follow-up.

First we will talk about iron tablets:

If your Hb was 11.5 before 1 and half months,then i do not think you will require any iron tablets unless you have some specific anemic symptoms like fatigue,weakness or mild dizziness or breathing difficulty etc.

I generally never recommend my patients to start oral iron tablets when their Hb is above 10mg%. However,it is low as compared to the normal but clinically it does not have any significance and yes,it is not the indication to start the oral iron treatment clinically.

It can be increased by dietary precautions,so i advise my patients to take iron rich foods.

If you have any dental issue particularly some tooth infection with pus formation then yes,it is quite possible you may suffer radiating pain over that side cheek or face or even in left ear.

For that,I would advise you to see your treating dentist with regular follow-up who can guide you better further.
