What Do Calf Pain And Swelling Indicate Long After Cramps Have Occurred?
Question: After 10 days my right calf still hurts after a cramp. I have great difficulty standing and walking. The right calf is swollen and very tender when touched. There are bruises around my ankle - I don't remember hitting the area. And the skin over the right calf is somewhat darkened, though sometimes it looks like it's a normal color.
Also, since this leg cramp my left leg, for which I have been taking furosemide for edema for years, has returned to its normal size. I stopped taking the furosemide.
What should I be doing to treat the calf pain and swelling? I haven't been to my PCP since it's so painful to walk. And should I start taking the furosemide again?
