Brief Answer:
Most likely a benign condition.
Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.
I have read your question and understand your concerns.
Most of cases of thumb twitching are benign ones, and include overuse of the muscle (computer use, texting etc.), nutritional deficiencies, carpal tunnel syndrome or impaired blood flow to the thumb.
I don't think you have any serious reasons to be concerned, however getting evaluated clinically by your primary care Doctor is necessary to understand better your condition.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

thanks for you reply. is twitching for this long normal , do I wait some more time before I go to a doctor ?
Brief Answer:
Twitching may last.
Detailed Answer:
Welcome back.
There are no exact time frames about twitching lasting, best thing to do is to put the affected hand in rest, if overuse of muscles is suspected to be the main cause.
If the twitching lasts more than 2-3 weeks, get evaluated by your Doctor.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards.
