What Do Constipation And Blood In The Stools Indicate?
Question: I was recently diagnosed with chronic colitis. This evening, I am experiencing pain in my lower left side. I am a tad constipated and I found a spot of red blood on the toilet paper when I tried to have a bowel movement.
Brief Answer:
Probably from abrasion caused by hrd stool!
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
This blood is probably from a small wound caused by the hard stools from constipation. I will suggest that you monitor only at this time to see if it persists. I am pretty sure this is a one time observation and will not occur again.
In the interim, diet rich in fruits, vegetables, fibers and much fluids would help alleviate symptoms of constipation. If possible, regular exercise would be of added advantage.
I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to follow up with me if need be. Above all, kindly share your updates after next stool.
