What Do Enlarged Taste Buds On Tongue Indicate?
Question: I have what appears to be enlarged taste buds on the back of my tongue, i recently had surgery could this be a symptom of the meds i have been taking or another issues?
Brief Answer:
nothing to worry
Detailed Answer:
hello dear, welcome to HCM forum.
There is nothing to worry in this.
Few taste buds towards the back of our tongue are enlarged normally. These are called "circumvallate papillae" , and are arranged in a V- shaped line on the posterior part of our tongue.
The only thing is that we will not notice this unless do a close watch with tongue protruding out.
Hope I have answered your question.
If you have further queries, I will be happy to help.
Thank you.
