What Do Fainting Episodes After Smoking Marijuana Indicate?

Question: My husband is 51, 5'7" & 220 lbs. He has been smoking marijuana for years. About 2 years ago he fainted after smoking (he had just stood up) & we assumed it was because he stood up too fast. Last night he did it again but did not stay out for as long. I'm worried but then again - maybe he just held his breath too long?? Should he see a doctor?
