Brief Answer:
It is normal.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone through your query and understand your concerns. Let me assure you that for a baby of this age, it is normal to pass stool once in 10 days. Alternatively the child may pass stool several times a day or even after each feed and that is normal too. Unless the stool is hard and pellet like, you need not grow concerned.

I would strongly recommend exclusive breast feeding. If the child is on breast feeds, you need not bother about the frequency of passage of stool. All you need to do is to monitor the urine output. If the frequency is more than 6 times in 24 hours, you would know that the amount of feeding is adequate. If the amount of passage of urine is less or if the child is lethargic you would need to take the child to a doctor without delay.

Let me know if you have further queries.

Brief Answer:
Use saline nasal drops

Detailed Answer:
No, please do not apply Vicks. Rather, apply Nasoclear nasal drops (saline nasal drops) 1 or 2 drop to each nostril when needed. It will help in clearing the nasal block.

Answered by Dr. Diptanshu Das (3 hours later)
Brief Answer:
You can give some antiallergic like Atarax

Detailed Answer:
Pus coming from where? From the umbilical cord? Or pus like discharge from the nose? Thick yellowish or greenish discharge from the nose is not pus and comprises of dead skin cells. You need to continue to apply Nasoclear nasal drops. Also give the baby Atarax drops 0.3 ml thrice daily. It will help.

Brief Answer:
Could you upload an image?

Detailed Answer:
You can apply T-Bact (mupirocin) instead of betadine. Neosporin powder also can be applied. Wait for a few days till the cord falls off. Continue to apply it for a few days thereafter. Hopefully things would be fine.

Brief Answer:
Continue to apply them

Detailed Answer:
Have checked the image. Does not look concerning. You may continue to apply betadine / T-bact / Neosporin. However, if there is a foul smell associated, it would be a good idea to visit the doctor. If not, application of topical antibacerials should suffice.
