Brief Answer:

Probably lymph node

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

This is most probably swollen lymph node which is a result of an infection in your body including respiratory ones or skin infections.

It may persist for up to 3 months after the beginning of an infection. Some more serious causes are rare but if this lump is painful or grows quickly then you should do ultrasound and needle biopsy.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

It is sore but it may be sore because I keep touching it. I may have not realized I had it until recently but there felt a swelling around December without noticing a lump. What would it mean if sore?

Brief Answer:

It may be lymphangitis.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

It may be lymphangitis then and this is a bacterial infection of lymph nodes. Also, some more serious issues such as lymphomas may present with painful lumps so it would be good to do an ultrasound in this case just to rule this out.

Hope I have answered your query.

Take care
