My urine and blood test were negative.
However, I had an increased thyroid count that came out in my blood test.

Its been around 2 weeks since I have finished my course and yet I have not got my periods.
I am very tensed as I dont want a pregnancy. Please guide me what to do

Hi Dr. Tayal,

I want to discuss my case in detail with you.
Last month my body has gone through a lot of changes. My work timings were changed and I had put on weight too. Right now I am over weight and I have started running to get my weight under control.
As my thyroid level was up, the doctor gave me a medicine to take daily on empty stomach.
I have not started that course as I wanted a second opinion on it once I am done with my periods.
Its been a week since I have completed my course of meprate.
Should I start my course for thyroid or wait for my periods?

Brief Answer:
Start with thyroid medicine.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
The delay in periods can be due to thyroid problem and being overweight. Both these problems need proper medicine and exercise to control and it takes at least 4-6 weeks to show an effect. You should start with the thyroid medicine without waiting for the period. If the pregnancy test is negative then you need not worry about pregnancy.
Hope my answer is helpful.
Do accept my answer in case there are no further queries.
Regards.
