What Do My CT Scan And Ultrasound Scan Reports Indicate?

Question: Hello. I recently had a CT and US for gallbladder problems, along with a HIDA scan. All showing unremarkable gallbladder. I have had right upper quadrant pain for several months and back pain in same area that will sometimes radiate to ribcage. It was noted that I have two complex cysts, one which is septated on each lobe of my liver. I am postmenopausal per bloodwork and no period for three years. Recently had a period, with breast tenderness and swelling. US showed cyst within the left ovary. 2/3 the size of the ovary and a fibroid within the anterior aspect of the myemetrium. Doesn't abut endometrium. I was told if bleeding comes back to teturn for biopsy. I know about thr cyst because I picked up my results. No one mentioned the cyst. I am 49 y/o and wondering should this cyst not be labelled as to what type of cyst and should it not be monitored like the compkex cysts on my liver?
Brief Answer:
Yes,size and nature of ovarian cyst is important.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Yes,size and nature of ovarian cyst should been mentioned in the report. You may talk to your sonologist and demand for these findings.
Ovarian cyst in your age group need follow up.
Endometrial thickness measurement is also important in your age group. Endometrial pathology may be related to bleeding,so it is important.
I suggest to talk to your radiologist.
If possible, please upload full ultrasound report for better interpretation.

Hope I have answered your question.

Thank you. I did upload the dictation from the US. Is it sufficient or should I ask more questions to get a clearer picture. I feel as the the term cyst and dimensions are not enough, considering my age and being post menopausal. Thoughts please.
Brief Answer:
Findings are normal.
Detailed Answer:
Hello
Sorry for replying late.
I have gone through your reports in detail.Findings are normal.
Sometime size of small ovarian cysts (1-1.5 cm) is not mentioned in the report. There are maximum chances of spontaneous resolution. If size had been more or there is any complexity,it must been mentioned in the report.
You may go for follow up ultrasound to see progression of cyst.
Endometrial thickness is normal.Endometrial thickness more than 5 mm should be the matter of concern in your age.
4 mm thickness is normal.
In short, don't worry at all.Findings are almost normal.

Hope I have answered your question.
