What Do My CT Scan Test Results Indicate?

default
Posted on Tue, 26 Apr 2016
Question: CT scan reads mild fullness the pelvicalyceal system bilaterally though these are not optimally evaluated
without IV contrast. Rounded tubular structure left adnexal area likely representing a prominent parametrical vessels coronal image 32 transaxial image 72. Bilateral non obstructing renal calculi.
What does it mean?
Also I was told I had some non obstructive kidney stones and there is mild fullness the pelvicalyceal
systems collection seen. The ureters are not dilated.
I had went to the doctors with severe pain in my right side and back that lasted 3 days. I took at at home urinary tract infection test that tested positive. The test at the doctors was normal and they sent me
for the CT scan. It was given without contrast. My GYN acts like there is no rush to see her but I can
go to a urologist if I'm still having problems. The pain is gone, but there is a lot of puffiness around my
abdomen it feels like fluid. I decided to take a Acai berry cleanse to flush my kidneys. I saw specks of
red in my urine and my bones and joints got very painful. I only did the cleanse one day.
Do you have any idea what the CT scan means and what may be going on with my body?

Brief Answer:
stones in the urinary tract

Detailed Answer:
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

The urinary tract consist the kidneys, the ureter, the bladder and the urethra.
There are different parts in the kidneys, the pelvicalyceal system refers to one part of the kidneys.
Mild fullness means that there is a very slight increase in size of this area, though this may not be significant.

Bilateral (on both sides, left and right kidneys), non obstruction (not blocking the passage) renal calculi (stones).
There are stones in both kidneys, but they are not blocking the pathway.

The ureters lead from the kidneys to the bladder. There is no enlargement- no dilation.

Essentially stones were seen in both kidneys but they have not blocked the passage way which is good and the ureters are also fine.
There is mild dilatation of the an aspect of the kidneys.

Stones can cause blood in the urine.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions

But what does prominent parametrial coronal image 32 transaxial image72 mean?
That's my main question. And why would my bones ache by taking a Acai berry
Cleanse? Do I need to see a specialist or just wait if I have another attack ?

Brief Answer:
prominent vessels around the uterus

Detailed Answer:
Hi

The scan would have been able to see other parts of the pelvis such as the uterus and ovaries

The left adnexa refers to the lower part of the pelvis where the ovaries are located.
Parametrium refers to the outer lining of the uterus, parametrial vessels are the blood vessels along the outer lining. These vessels are normally present

Prominent parametrial vessels mean that they were clearly seen or significant. This can occur with previous pregnancies, due to hormonal issues, as a result of any previous surgeries, mass (if this was present, would have been seen)

This is not a life threatening condition.

It may not necessarily cause any pain or any symptoms at all

Acai berry is a herbal medication. Unfortunately testing is not required for any herbal meds to be able to definitely list any possible side effects. It is only a requirement for traditional medication.
It is possible to be allergic to any chemical agent and it is possible that you are somewhat allergic to it but unable to say if the pain is side effect of the acai specifically

At the moment you can schedule an appointment with a urologist if another attack occurs
Please feel free to ask anything else
