What Do My CT Scan Test Results Indicate?
Question: I had a CT scan yesterday for suspected TB. The lungs are clear ("no tracheobronchial tree abnormalities'). But the scan shows a "8mm hypervascular lesion in the spleen. This may be a hemangioma."
What should I make of this?
What should I make of this?
Brief Answer:
Hemangioma spleen
Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns
You had a CT scan of the chest due to possible TB. They found no TB and only a possible hemanigioma in the spleen. This is a incidental finding and is of no consequence. The hemangioma is just a small collection of arteries and is completely benign. There is no reason to to anything about this. You are perfectly healthy according to your CT scan
