Posted on Wed, 6 Apr 2016
Question: Hi Doctor,
I had been diagnosed hepatitis A with jaundice. My total Bilirubin level had become to 10. Now it's 2.4. It has been 2 months and the Bilirubin level is decreasing 0.1- 0.2 for 10 days from past 5 weeks.

How much time does it take to come to normal range?

What all food can i have now ?

Hi Doctor,

I have attached LFT report.

My age is 26.

The appetite is pretty good. Right now I am having food without oil , masala n spicy and drinking lots of sugarcane juice.

I am not passing yellowish urine now.

My concern is that it's been 2 months and still Bilirubin is not come to normal range and its decreasing very slowly.

Still how much time does it take for me to start eating normal food.

Brief Answer:
It might take 4 to 6 weeks to come back to normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello
welcome again and thanks for the details.
I tried to open your reports but couldn't access it, so I would advise you to send it to YYYY@YYYY with subject to personal attention to Dr BR Hudda.

Looking at your detailed description, since your appetite is good and you are taking well balanced diet, so it will come down in 2 to 4 weeks.

I would advise you to take same diet for a month or so after that you will be able to all kind of food.
If your SGOT and SGPT are within normal, than just relax, need not to worry at all.

Hope this answers your question, please feel free to discuss further.
Best wishes
