What Do My MRI Test Results Indicate?
Question: I had a shoulder dislocation since long and before three months it occurred again. I did MRI and found below impression.
1. Subchondral depression of the posterosuperior humeral head hill Sachs lesion
2. Anteroinferior glenoid labrum is displaced anteriorly bankart lesion.
Can anyone tell do I need surgery for the above mentioned report. My doctor told I need surgery. Please I am really worried and tense. Should I go for surgery or no?

Recurrent shoulder dislocation usually happens due to an instability in the shoulder joint. Loose ligaments, decreased strength of shoulder muscle and rounding of glenoid cavity are the common reasons of such occurrences.
Your MRI scan suggests displacement of glenoid labrum that needs a surgical fixation. If not repaired properly then it can cause recurrent dislocation of shoulder and a persistent pain.
The initial treatment consists of pain killers to reduce the pain and strengthening of the shoulder muscles by isometric exercises. Intensive physiotherapy program is begun to strengthen the shoulder muscles after the surgical repair.
It is best to go with your orthopedician's advice.
