What Do My USG And KUB Test Reports Indicate?

Question: Please find my USG of KUB report and advice:
Dr. I.R XXXXXXX (66 years) M 9.11.2015: USG OF KUB
Kidneys: Both the kidneys are normal in size and reveal normal parenchymal echotexture. There is mild scaring in left kidney. Cortico-medullary differentiation is normally visualized. The sinus echoes are normally visualized. Small cyst measuring 14 mm is noted in the mid pole of the right kidney. No evidence of any hydronephrosis or renal calculus is seen. RK measured: 98 mm in length, LK measures: 99 mm in length.
Urinary Bladder: Urinary Bladder is well distended. No wall irregularity, intraluminal lesion or calculus is seen. Post void residual volume is 3.8 cc(insignificant)
Prostate: Prostate is mildly enlarged with normal echotexture. No focal lesion or calculation is seen. Prostate measures 42 mm x 37 mm x 29 mm. Weight of the gland is 24 gms
Seminal vesicles: Both the Seminal vesicles are visualized and do not reveal any obvious abnormality.
Impression: Small category 1 right renal cortical cyst
Grade I enlarged prostrate.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Your findings suggests mildly enlarged prostate.
It is expcted finding in your age.Its treatment depend upon size of prostate and symptoms.
Since prostate is only mildly enlarged,you may need conservative treatment only.
Patient may be prescribed some medicines like tamsulosin,finasteride etc after evaluation.
You may also need PSA estimation etc.
If you don't have any symptoms then you may be advised follow up only.

Your findings also suggest small simple cyst in right kidney.
Simple renal cysts are generally age related developmental findings and it only require follow up ultrasound.
Renal cysts may require treatment if there is pain,increase in size of cysts,infection etc.

Other findings are normal.Mild scaring in left kidney may be ignored.
