What Do My Biopsy Test Results Indicate?

histopathology shows Chronic gastritis
Detailed Answer:
hi.
thanks for posting query at HCM.
reviewed attached report of gastric biopsy.
you have been given a diagnosis of chronic gastritis by the pathologist.
Firstly, please note that Chronic gastritis is "reversible".
inflammation is a protective body response against bacteria, viruses, fungus, damaged cells or irritants. There are two types of inflammation - acute and chronic.
acute is the immediate response and it would either lead to resolution or "chronic inflammation".
chronic means that the inflammatory process is prolonged. ( maybe its present since months but you remained asymptomatic).
the causative agent in your case is "helicobacter pylori" and you have been prescribed the drugs to kill the bug.
stroma is a connective tissue that supports the surrounding functioning cells.
Inflammation is present since quite long so inflammatory cells are in abundance as compared to normal functioning tissue(glands).
Be compliant with the medication.
in addition, your advised to:
decrease salt intake
abstain from alcohol and smoking (if positive history)
intake fruits rich in vitamin C
ingest less spicy food
ingest green vegetables

Thanks for detail explanation. The 1st thing is i am glad that i Chronic Gastric reversible, if i am right this can be cured in long run with proper diet. Can you advise how the reversible works
I have actually reduce all fatty, oily, spicy foods and getting used to some vege diet.
Are you trying to say even this few H.Pylori can cause inflammation & pain?
The diet is for long run & till the bugs run away from me.
Hope to hear from you. Thanks
Risk factors in presence of H.pylori potentiate gastritis
Detailed Answer:
hi.
thanks for getting back to me.
H.pylori is well established and most common cause of gastritis.
few bugs or many - both states have the tendency to induce inflammation.
Alcoholism, increase salt intake, smoking , are established risk factors that may halt the healing process and precipitate the destruction process in stomach.
therefore, eradication of H.pylori through medication - together with removal of risk factors will definitely aid in the healing process and would lead to resolution of gastritis.
you may continue diet modification atleast for 1 to 2 months or until the follow-up endoscopic examination.
you may undergo a follow-up endoscopic examination after 3 to 6 months to assess severity of gastritis. Hopefully , complete resolution or low grade of gastritis would be present as compared to present report.
Hope to answer your concern.

Understand that..i don't take alcohol,no smoke but maybe the food i need to take care. Dr say he will do breathing test after 2 weeks medication to see if the h.pylori still exist. I am not sure if he gonna do the scope again after 6 months unless i have severe pain.
I did not get the answer for reversible...what you mean by chronic gastritis is reversible by that?
gastritis is reversible
Detailed Answer:
hi.
firstly, urea breath test is highly recommended after H.pylori eradication therapy. However, urea breath test being performed 2 to 4 weeks after completing the medication course will give better results.
Secondly, "gastritis is Reversible" explanation:
gastric mucosa(stomach) is inflamed now as per histology reports.
reversible means that inflammation may "NOT" progress and will not lead to further damage, rather extent of inflammation would decrease and may result in resolution of symptoms. In some cases, normal architecture of stomach maybe restored.
This would ultimately prevent complications of chronic gastritis.
