What Do My Lab Test Report Indicate?

default
Posted on Fri, 19 Aug 2016
Question: We were trying to conceive for past 7 months, but could not succeed. When we have visited the gynecologist, she had given me Siphene 100mg to be taken from cycle day 4 to cycle day 8. She has asked us to get a follicular study on cycle day 13. The report saying that there are no follicles in both right and left ovary. My periods are always regular. Please advice us whether the ovulation is already completed or if there is any issue and also when should we need to take the follicular study scan ( something between 9th and 12th day of the cycle)?

Brief Answer:
There are follicles

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about ovulation.

Though report mentions no follicles I see some follicle in the picture. Please ask your doctor to clarify about the follicle seen in picture.

I think you will have ovulation soon. You need to get transvaginal ultrasound scan done to assess exact size of follicles and know the follicular growth accurately as abdominal ultrasound scan is not right method.

Let me know if you need anymore help.

Thank you for the reply.

My doctor is saying that those are cysts inside my ovaries and she has said that Siphene tablet had no effect on me and hence there are no follicles. But i personally feel i have ovulated on CD 12/13.

Please advice. Thanks in advance.

Brief Answer:
Follicular growth scan required

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Even I feel you have ovulated.

If you don't conceive this cycle, get follicular growth scan done on Day 2 of next cycle to rule out cysts. Start medicines and see improvement.

Hi Doctor,

It has been said that i have polycysts in my ovaries and doctor has given me glyciphage sr 1gm and duphaston.

I am very much worried about PCOS. Is surgery the only way to remove it? I have periods regular and no problem with that. Also please tell me if getting pregnant with PCOS is difficult.

Thanks in advance.
