Posted on Fri, 6 Nov 2015
Question: My father aged 60 , USG report found gall stone ( seems like dust ). Right now health condition is completely o.k ( Blood report and CRP ). He is suffering with an mental problem. He think during the operation if my sense will not recover or something happen wrong. Surgeon tried two times. Yesterday surgeon told me now the mental condition is very sensitive and O.T is not possible. If O.T will perform might be he will be comma or something wrong.
I am too much worried about him. Is there any medicine which can prevent this stone without surgery for few months.
Right now two medicines are going every day
Tab: Udilib 350 , 2 times
Tab: Olmisar A 40 , One tab daily

Today USG Report:

Gallbladder is normally distended. A calculus measure 14 mm is seen in the lumen.
Wall contains few echogenic foci with comment tail artifacty -- Cholesterosis of gallbladder.
C B D: Common bile duct is not dilated and measure 3 mm in diameter. No Calculus is seen.

Blood Report :

Bilirubin (Total) : 1.2 mg/dl
Conjugated: 0.7 mg/dl
Unconjugated: 0.5 mg/dl

Please advise me is there any risk if we wait 2 months more for surgery due to mental condition.
Or is there any medicine which will prevent this condition without surgery.

Brief Answer:
Surgery can be postponed if the general health is ok.

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear .
Welcome to the HCM.
Dear since common bile duct is not distended and its not effecting liver and the calculus is in gallbladder .So if the over all general health is fine and if the reports are fine and no bothersome pain in abdomen or indigestion problem the surgery can be post poned for two months or more.
What you have told the history ,at the moment priority is the mental health and even Surgeon has suggested.Since for surgery some medicines are used which could worsen the mental health .
What reports you have mentioned ,from that the gall bladder surgery can be postponed with continueing prescribed medicines.
Since gallblader stores bile ,which actualy is from liver and if gall bladder is removed ,the bile would be still there to maintain lipid metabolism .
So right now mental health should be priority.
Hopefully I anwered your question. You may ask further without hesitation.
