What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?

default
Posted on Thu, 12 Nov 2015
Question: I have been feeling fatigued for several months and my doctor has run several tests with no real definite answers. I have had a CRP test run 4 times with ranges from 7.8-9.9; I have had 2 positive ANA tests one states that it has a value of 9.2 as part of a connective tissue disease cascade, the other just says positive and then later states the ANA titer value is >1:640. All of the rest of the cascade was negitive with all values under 0.2 except RNP AB which were 0.8. My GP is referring me to a rheumatologist, however, I have no other symptoms of a autoimmune disease (no joint pain or swelling, no sun sensitivity, etc) My CBC was low for Hemoglobin and MCH and High for RDW and Neutrophils. Any suggestions that my doctor may not have thought of? I just want to feel better!!!

Brief Answer:
There is a possibility of SLE.

Detailed Answer:

Dear madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

We'll looking into your query I will like to tell you that yes there exists a possibility of lupus , since you have constant fatigue , thyroid function tests and muscle enzymes like CPK , LDH , aldolase should also be done . Urine routine should be done to look for any proteinurea , or blood cells . Also it will be good if you attach your reports so I would see what else needs to be done.

Take care.

I attached the most recent blood work that has been done. I had a a TSH test done in July and it was 0.95. I also had a Thyroglobulin AB which was <20 and a Thyroid Peroxidase AB which was 0.3 (also done in July). I have been reading about thyroid disorders and most of my symptoms seem to fit better with that than the autoimmune diseases that my GP has been testing for. Is there a different thyroid test that I should ask to have run? Also what do you think about the CBC results? My GP says she is not concerned because the things that were low or high were just outside the normal range, but my thought is that there are normal ranges for a reason, right?

Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well after going through your reports , I would like to tell you that I think your thyroid test evaluation is complete . Your other reports are fine and your GP is right . Since you have ANA in such high titre I will favour diagnosis of lupus . Also I didnt see your urine reports . If you have send that also .
