What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?
Question: Hello Doctor
My father legs were swollen a lot recently and it looked like it was due to water. He has smoking and drinking problem. He smokes about 20 cigarettes and about 250 ml of brandy on daily basis. When taken to the doctor, they said his haemoglobin level is very low. So, they gave him about 750 ml of blood. They conducted a cardio test, blood tests and endoscopy while he was admitted to the hospital for 2 weeks.
Doctors said, my dad, has ulcers, liver damage and a Heart condition as well. I attached the full reports and medication prescribed for him. I was not present at the hospital or could not talk tp the doctors as I was out of the country.
Kindly review the attached reports and let me know if the diagnosis is correct, if we need to get more tests done or if he needs any special care.

Brief Answer:
swelling is due to kidney infection
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for your medical reports
As per your report history your latest report shows mild kidney infection as there is pus cell, RBC and albumin present but as your liver enzymes is under normal range so we can not establish any liver damage.so you have done all investigations so far add one investigation such as kidney ultrasound. The treatment depends upon the underlying cause only. Take regular blood pressure medication as advised by your doctor. Check it every month and adjust the dose. "As" you have infection at present tell your doctor to add an antibiotic which will control infection. After antibiotics course please check your urine once again to check whether any albumin and pus cell is present or not.if required please do a culture as well.
You can do few things to prevent reinfection in future-:
1)seek prompt treatment of a strep infection causing a sore throat.
2)Avoid unnecessary intravenous drug use.
3)Take regular blood pressure medications and avoid extra salt in diet
4)Try to control sugar to prevent diabetic in future
Finally, i saw in your stool report that you have hidden blood present which indicates peptic ulcers .for it do an endoscopy examination. The treatment which your doctor may think is antibiotic course for H pylori, medications to block acid production and antacids so you can talk with your doctor regarding this. Do not take any painkillers unless advised by your treating doctor.
I hope i answered as per your report, if you have any doubt to clarify do not hesitate to ask me again.
Hope that helps
