What Do My Lab Test Reports Indicate?
Question: Hi, I am experiencing midcycle bleeding for the first time in my life. I am 23 y/o and I never missed a period, my cycle length ranges from 25 to 30 days, I am not married and never had any sexual relationships. earlier this month on the 3-5-2017 I had a normal period wich lasted 7 days, until 9-5-2017. After that, on the 17-5-2017, I saw a few blood streaks in my normal uterine discharge. I thought it was just ovulation bleeding..the next day I started to see more blood as if I was having a period. however it spotted on my underwear, and only came in large amounts when I go to the toilet and wipe with a tissue, that's when I see a lot of blood, either going down the toilet seat or on the tissue. it has the exact characteristics of a period, with all the clots and consistency and color. It's usually light in the morning, increases mid-day or when I move around a lot ( I usually have mild pain; just like a periods', around this time) and it calms down again at night. this kept happening through the 18th, 19th, 20th of this month and I'm still going through it today. yesterday I decided to see a gynecologist, she asked for a pelvic ultrasound, it came out perfectly normal, no cysts no fibroids no abnormal sizes or anything like that.. and she just decided to give me a pill that I should take three times a day for 5 days I forgot its name, it starts with a D, she said it contracts the blood vessels and stops the bleeding.. I wasn't convinced with her treatment. I thought the idea behind this medicine is a bit scary to me. she didn't even ask for a hormonal blood test... so I thought to have a second opinion or advice on what I can do. I am thinking of seeing a doctor and telling them this too.. if I want to have some blood tests what do you advise? should I carry on with the meds or wait and observe? I personally thought it could be a shortened cycle and just a normal period due to change of lifestyle ( I recently joined a gym.but my workouts aren't heavy at all, I only use 1Kg weight for arms exercises, and my own body weight for legs while supporting my body..which is strange)..so I'm not sure if this is the reason for a simple cycle change? another thing that crossed my mind is.. if this is a normal period, why am I not seeing the blood onto my sanitary towel as a normal period does? why do I only see it when I go to the toilet.. it seems like my uterus is not contracting to shed the lining outside my body as hard as it does during a normal period.. so what do you think? is there any helpful advice or thoughts that you have?
Please note, I have done a blood text in August-2015 when I went to see a doctor for hairloss, my testestrone+ extrogen+progesterone etc were all normal, the only thing above the maximum was Dihydrotestosterone and androstenedione, they were a number or two only above XXXXXXX I have had these tests on the 4th day of my period at that time. And I don't have insulin resistance to this day. my weight gain was due to bad eating habits, which made me reach 96kg and from January I started a diet and lost 11 Kg to this day.
More details about the presenting complaint:
From the 17-5-2017 (cycle day 15) until now still going on.
Previous history of the same issue:
None
Current medications:
Aldactone for DHT hair-loss + NUHAIR DHT blocker + Biotine (Iron, Vit D, B-complex occasionally because i took them for 4 months regularily and now i take them occasionally)
Past medications of the same issue:
No
Lab tests performed:
Mentioned in the text. and pelvic ultrasound taken yesterday 20-5-2017 which appeared normal with no abnormalities.
I have been prescribed daflon 500mg 3 times per day for 5 days.. is this safe? Or will it cause irregularities? And once im done how do i stop it?

Brief Answer:
Due to exercise
Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
You are having early periods because of the workout and gym you have started.
Exercises and change in routine lead to hormonal changes which leads to irregular ovulation and hence irregular periods are common.
This phenomenon settles in few days to 2 months and the cycles become normal after that.
Daflon is estrogen analogue and is generally not necessary in this situation.
However, it is safe to take.
I suggest you not to worry and panic.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
