What Do My Lab Test Results Indicate?

Question: Trying to ask Dr Hardick Sangvhl a question. The lab said I had to pick up my own results as they were doing it for me and not the doctor. They wouldn't send it to Dr or tell me on the phone and they were closing.. So have to wait until Tues. However, she said it hasn't gone down and change just a little. From that I assume the a1c creeped up a tiny bit from 3.8. Hope this gets to you. The question closed on its own so hope this gets to you.
Brief Answer:
Its good to here about your results.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Its good to here about your result. Your hba1c level is not decreased. There is slight change so mostly it will increase slightly.
Its totally normal. As I told you, it will increase by its own with time. Now don't worry. Just relax.

I just got the exact results of the repeat a1c. 4.03. So should I still repeat in 6 mos? My doctor said it's fine and I'm worrying needlessly. He seems to think it's even a good thing.
Should I be concerned about hypoglycemia? My doctor says no. What do you think? Ofcourse my fasting was 100, which still seems high. Confusing. They used to say hypoglycemia preceded hyperglycemia but I don't see much about that anymore. Are any dietary changes indicated?
Thanks

Your result is good. There is nothing to worry about that. Nothing to worry about hypoglycaemia also. Just be relaxed.
I still advise you to repeat after 6 months.
No any dietary changes are required at this stage.

What would you be looking for in 6 months? I read an answer to someone else's question, answered by another hemotologist. He said that a1c is mainly to check for hyperglycemia and has very little significance below the normal range because it becomes less accurate. He said he was only concerned that it was below the diabetic or pre-diabetic cut off. What do you think about that?
Brief Answer:
Its true that Hba1c has very little significance in lower range.
Detailed Answer:
Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Yes it is true that Hba1c has very little significance in lower range. Even I have told you that don't worry its not significant.
Your FBS is border line and your Hba1c result don't match with that. You are very anxious so its better to check FBS and Hba1c after 6 month. Hope it will be in normal range after 6 months.
Many a time its depends on individual patients that after how much time repeat investigation is required.
I want to say it again that you should not worry at all about your results. Its normal. Don't interpret just figures with normal range. Just be relaxed. No any dietary changes or treatment is required.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.

So based on borderline fb but low a1c, would you think I'm pre-diabetic or headed there? Or does the a1c mean the fb isn't important? I thought the a1c was what was looked at as fb is influenced by so many variables. Are you suggesting the repeat for my state of mine mostly? I asked my doctor about retesting in a few months and here's his answer. "It's not necessary but hey its your money" He's also a friend so he's trying to get me to relax and look at my results as good. He thinks all my blood work is excellent. He also knows I have no iinsurance which is why he made the "It's your money" remark. The blood work cost me $500 and he doesn't see why I want to spend more money which he considers a waste and unnecessary.
I also asked him if I should be checking bs after eating ect. He said, "yeah if you want to drive yourself crazy" In other words, no! Basically he is strongly encouraging me to let it go and not do anything other than normal blood work at normal intervals.

I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
I don't think you are pre diabetic.
I don't think your Hba1c is abnormal.
Your friend is 100% right. You don't required any treatment, dietary changes or investigation.
That I have told you in very first answer.
I have repeatedly told you that you are normal.
Still you are too much anxious and repeatedly asked me the same with various internet reading.
So just for piece of your mind I advised you to repeat otherwise normally its not required.
I have tried my level best to convinced you that you are normal and forgot about the results. Still you have asked me the same things. So for piece of your mind I advised you.
You are absolutely normal. Forgot everything and just be relaxed.
Hope I have answered your all questions. Still if you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
