What Do My Lab Test Results Indicate?
Question: Hi Doctor
I am TTC from past 2 years, undergone IUI in Nov and was not successful
As per doctor suggestion, This month i had taken ovitrop injection on 3rd,5th,7th and 9th day of mesus cycle.
Mine is 30 day cycle and is consistent from last 4 months.
As per follicular study on 11th and 13th cycle day right ovary shows 1.4cm×1.4cm and left ovary has multiple follicles. There is no follicular growth on 13th day.In the report it shows free fluid with number 1+
We had planned for IUI this month and doctor suggested for next month.
Below are my questions.
Is it every alternate month, follicular growth happens? As per below follicular study
Nov month :There wasnt follicle growth
Dec month:There was follicle growth to XXXXXXX on 14 day
XXXXXXX month: we didnt had follicular scan
Feb month: there was follicle growth to XXXXXXX on 14 day
Mar month:there wasnt follicular growth till 13th day
Please provide your analysis
2.what is free fluid in POD? Intercourse during free fluid increases pregnancy chances?
3. How to track ovulation since every month it varies with date.
4.Planning to take accupunture treatment for better ovulation. Please advise
5.HSG testing came normal and semen analysis count shows 37million and motility greater than 60%...Is that ok?Frequent intercourse reduces sperm quantity. Is that normal?
6.please guide us since or Gync doctor asked us to.contact fertility specialist
Thanks

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I understand your concerns.
Following is my reply :
1) Your follicle was 14 mm on day 13. There was possibility of further increase if you had repeated scan on day 15 or 16.
2) Ovulation occurs every month and not alternate months alone.
3) Ovulation can be detected by ultrasound scan or ovulation monitoring strips.
4) Ovulation occurs leading to free fluid. pregnancy chances are higher if you try at this time.
5) Acupuncture may not help much.
6) Semen quality is not reduced by frequent sexual Intercourse.
Regards
