Question: Hi Doctor,

When I have taken my Health Risk Assessment, I got to know as below in my report.

Prostate: A Digital Prostate Examination is recommended for men over 50 years of age for early detection of prostate cancer. You can learn more about it from your Doctor.
Also ask your doctor about screening tests available for early detection of Colon cancer.

My father suffered from Prostate and Kidney failure. Would that be any kind of hereditary, that I also might get attacked with this. Please suggest.

If yes, please let me know the name of the Test I have undergo for early detection of the same.

Brief Answer:
You do not need any active intervention or tests at this stage .

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for your query ,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have undergone tests for health risk assessment .

It is normal protocol to advice digital rectal examination and any cardiac assessment to rule out any major problem

As you have said that your father had some prostate and kidney issues which may be age related it is unlikely that you may also get those problems in near future .

If you do not have any urinary problems it is not mandatory to go for any more further tests or investigations .You may take a call as and when need arises or go for routine screening for cancer of the prostate after the age of 50 years .

Hope I have answered your query ,please feel free to ask if you have more questions , I shall be happy to help you .
Thanks and Regards.
